Locusts attack Herat, Afghanistan, locusts fall from the sky in Herat
Videos posted on social media show that thousands of locusts have invaded the city of Herat.
Local officials in Herat say that since the middle of last night (Monday, May 29), the prevalence of locust pests has been seen in some residential areas of the city and some districts of the province.

The Herat provincial press office said in a statement today (Tuesday, May 9) that, based on preliminary surveys, “these locusts are local or indigenous and the damage caused by this pest is very small.”
According to the report, the influx of locusts has not yet damaged agricultural areas, according to district reports.

It is worth mentioning that the outbreak of locust pests has caused concern among farmers and citizens of Herat province.
